It seems like only yesterday that the Goodmorning Show finished, but in reality, it’s almost 10 years.

What have I been up too and where have I been?
I fell into a YouTube channel called Astarsplace and this is where I teach and share my love of floristry and my passion for the great botanical world.

The garden really is a beautiful place & my quest is to encourage as many as I can to return to growing blooms to enrich our lives. The bounty is never ending and I love that with each season, there are new things to discovered and enjoy.

As a devotee of Constance Spry, I feel honour-bound to ensure that her legacy is not forgotten. As she once said, “the difference between a weed and a flower is merely an opinion”. I see nothing wrong with a big jug of roadside gathered fennel flowers, plonk in with freshly picked sunflowers & my favourite display, a jardinière filled with branches of fruit laden pear allowed to ripen naturally on the sideboard. Delicious.

I’m thrilled to be part of the Waikato Home & Garden Show & can’t wait to share how easy it is to create beautiful floral displays using things gathered from the garden, picked from across the fence, plants & potted colour from the garden shop, flowers from in the supermarket, & let’s not forget, blooms found on the side of the road.
